Your profile, and what you can change there
Your name and email, your picture, your password, and moving two-step sign-in to a new phone.
Open the menu behind your picture — at the bottom of the sidebar, or at the top of the screen on a phone — and choose Your profile. Your name, your picture, your password and two-step sign-in are all there. Sign out is in the same menu.
Your name and email
Mastery Board is an official school programme, so your name and email address are school records, not account settings. A teacher sees both and changes neither: ask an administrator at your school to correct your name. An administrator changes her own name here, under First name and Last name, then chooses Save name. Your email address is the one your invitation went to, and you sign in with it.
Your picture
Under Picture, choose Icon, Photo or Initials. An icon is one of the drawings shown, in a colour you pick. Add a photo takes one with the camera or from the device, Change photo puts another in its place, and Remove photo takes it away again. Each choice saves as you make it, and choosing one keeps the others: trying a photo does not lose the bee you had. Colleagues at your school see your picture beside your name, and so do the administrators who run your school and district.
Your password
- Choose Change password in the menu behind your picture, or scroll down to Change your password on your profile.
- Type your current password. Mastery Board asks for it so an unlocked laptop is not enough to lock you out.
- Type the new password twice. At least 8 characters.
- Choose Change password.
Two-step sign-in
Under Two-step sign-in it says when it was set up, and holds Set up a new phone. Do that while the old phone still works: it asks for the code your current phone shows, then shows a new code for the app on the new phone to scan. Enter the 6 digits that app shows and choose Finish setting up.
Codes from the old phone stop working as soon as the new one is set up. If it is already lost, somebody else has to reset your two-step sign-in, and Two-step sign-in says who to ask — for a teacher, an administrator at your school. You set it up again the next time you sign in.
