The change log

Who added, changed or removed what, and when — and how to find one particular change.

Open the menu behind your photo — at the foot of the sidebar, or the top of the screen on a phone — and choose Change log. It records marks, notes and absences; children, their classes and their moves; templates put on classes and taken off; districts, schools and teams; people's places in them and their invitations; and every two-step sign-in reset.

A school's administrators read their school's entries, a district's administrators their district's, and Mastery Board's administrators all of them. Teachers cannot read it. Nobody can change or remove an entry through the app.

Finding a change

Entries are newest first, a hundred at a time, and each says When, Who and What. A district's administrators see a School column as well.

  1. Narrow it with the buttons across the top: Everything, Marks and notes, Children and classes, People and access, or Templates.
  2. Read down the When column to the day you mean.
  3. Choose Older changes to go back further, and Newest changes to come back.

An entry says what was done and what to: “Changed a mark”, with the child, the question, and the mark before and after; “Took a child off a class”; “Invited someone”; “Reset someone's two-step sign-in”.

Only what someone did directly is an entry. Deleting a class is one entry, not one for every mark that went with it. For a template, it records the template being made, renamed, shared, moved or deleted — not each edit inside it.

Deleting stays deleting. A child deleted for good takes their entries with them and leaves one entry saying the record was deleted, by whom and when. A school or district deleted takes its entries too.
