Teams, and who is on them

Kindergarten, First Grade, the reading interventionists — a team is whatever your school really divides into. Every class belongs to one, and everyone on that team can open its children and their marks. A teacher who teaches across two grades is on both teams.

1. On Teams, choose Add a team.
2. Give it a Team name, and choose its School where you run more than one.
3. Choose Add team. You are on the team you make.

Add someone, under a team, lists people already at that school who aren't on it yet. An administrator can put anyone at the school on any of its teams; a teacher can bring a colleague onto a team she is on herself, which is how a grade team usually forms.

A teacher looking at a team she isn't on sees Ask to join. Those requests wait at the top of Teams, under Asking to join, with Approve and Decline. She is emailed either way.

Taking someone off

The menu beside a person has Remove from, with the team's name after it. If classes on the team are theirs, Mastery Board names those classes before it happens: the classes stay on the team, still theirs, with every mark, but the teacher can't open them until she is put back on.

Taking someone off the school itself, rather than off one team, is Mastery Board's administrators' work, in the Admin area. It takes them off every team at that school at once. What they made there stays behind: classes and marks stay where they are, and their templates and terms pass to the administrator who saved the change.

A team can't be deleted while classes are still on it, or while templates use skills it named. Move the classes to another team first.
