Moving a child to another class
Move takes a child out of one class and into another in one step, and keeps what was recorded in both.
Move does what Unenroll does at the old class and enrolls the child at the new one, in one step. It is the way to handle a child who changes class part-way through the year.
- Open the class the child is in and go to the Students tab.
- Choose the three dots at the end of their row, then Move.
- Pick the Team, then the Class. Classes in the same term come first; one in another term has its term beside its name.
- Choose Next, read the From and To boxes, then choose the button that says Move and the child's first name.
The child leaves the old class that day and keeps every mark recorded there, the way an unenrolled child does. They start in the new class with nothing marked yet.
Only classes you look after are offered — your teams' classes, or every class in the school if you administer it. A class on a team you're not on has to be moved by its team or by a school administrator.
To another school
A child's record belongs to the school they are at, so a move to another school is a district administrator's to do, and their dialog asks for the School first. Moving a child there takes their record with them, so the new school's teachers can see them, and takes them out of any class they are still in at the old school. Every class they leave keeps what was recorded in it.
Children joining and leaving classes, and moves between them, are recorded in the change log with who made the change and when. School and district administrators can read it.
