Favourites, and which school year you see

Beside a page's title there is a star. Press it and the page is kept there and then; a dialog opens with a name already filled in, so Done is all it takes. Type a different name, or Remove if you pressed the star by mistake.

Nearly every page in Mastery Board has one: Classes and a class, a class's Mastery Board, a child, What to reteach, Teams, Board Templates and a template inside it, Your profile. A printable page has none. A favourite keeps the address, so one made on a board opens on the tab and the unit you were on.

Kept pages show under Favorites in the sidebar, below Classes. Drag one by the grip beside its name to order them, or open its menu for Move up, Move down, Rename and Remove — the way to take away a favourite whose class or board has gone, where no star is left to press. On a phone they are in the menu behind your picture.

Favourites are yours alone, and kept with your account rather than the browser: a page you star on the classroom computer is there on your iPad too. Taking one away leaves the page itself alone.

Which school year you are looking at

A class belongs to a term — usually a school year, sometimes a summer session. The Classes page says which terms it is listing, beside the title: the term's name when you have picked one, or All current, which is every term running today.

1. Open Classes and choose the settings button at the top right.
2. In Classes Page Settings, open Display term.
3. Pick All current, or one term by name. The dialog closes, and the page behind is already showing it.

Picking a term changes what the Classes page lists, and which term Add a class starts on. No class moves and no marks change. The choice is remembered in the browser you made it in, so your iPad and your classroom computer can be showing different terms.

Beside the term there is no school to pick: your school is your team's. A school picker shows there only for an administrator who runs more than one school and is on no team.
